A rare original Gorillaz promotional booklet dating from the very beginning of the band’s Phase One era.

Produced in 2000 ahead of the release of Gorillaz’ debut album, this full-colour 38-page promotional booklet was created to introduce the band’s fictional members and their individual backstories.

Featuring early artwork by Jamie Hewlett, the booklet includes illustrations and character biographies for 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs, providing an early glimpse into the visual world and mythology that would become central to Gorillaz.

The booklet was originally produced as an internal promotional item and examples were distributed as part of early Gorillaz press and promotional packs.

This booklet dates from the band’s earliest promotional campaign and represents an interesting piece of original pre-album Gorillaz ephemera.
