Description
Jamie Hewlett – Gorillaz – Noodle Blue – Rare Pictures on Walls Screenprint (2004)
Original artwork by Jamie Hewlett – rare blue colourway
An original limited edition Gorillaz screenprint featuring Noodle, created by Jamie Hewlett and published by Pictures on Walls in 2004.
The artwork depicts Noodle mid-air with guitar in hand, rendered in a striking monochromatic blue against the natural off-white tone of the paper.
Produced during the early years of Pictures on Walls, the print was screenprinted on heavyweight recycled wove paper and released in a limited edition of 600.
This blue colourway is particularly scarce, with examples appearing far less frequently on the secondary market than some of the other colour variations, making it one of the more desirable versions of this early Hewlett image.
This example is hand numbered and carries the original Pictures on Walls blind stamp in the lower left corner.
Dating from 2004, the print predates the release of Demon Days and represents an important early period in Jamie Hewlett’s Gorillaz artwork and his association with Pictures on Walls.
More than twenty years after its original release, clean examples of the blue edition are increasingly difficult to find, particularly with strong colour and good overall condition.
