Description
Jamie Hewlett – Gorillaz – Stained Glass Window Print (2005) – Large Window Centre
Artwork by Jamie Hewlett
This is a rare example of Jamie Hewlett’s early Gorillaz work, published by the now-defunct Pictures on Walls, once owned by Banksy and Jamie.
Created in conjunction with Gorillaz’s second album release, Demon Days, in May 2005, the stained glass pieces were produced to the highest standard, using groundbreaking print techniques at the time.
POW description ‘A beautiful piece of work. Made around the time of Gorillaz ‘Demon Days’ album – arguably still one of the 21st Century’s most coherent masterpieces.‘
A strictly limited release worldwide, each piece is lithograph printed with silkscreen finishing on heavy cotton fibre rag paper.
The print technique gives the stained glass lead a slightly raised, textured feel.
